Neighborhood Watch is a national program under which neighbors organize to prevent crime in their neighborhood, increase personal safety, security and encourage emergency preparedness to the residents of Lincoln Hills. Neighborhood Watch also strengthens neighborhood ties and provides an opportunity to improve community relations.
Residents are organized into "Watch Stations" which include all residents who receive their mail at the same mail box station. The Mail Box Captain passes on security and crime-related information to those residents in their village and periodically arranges meetings to discuss safety and security measures concerning them. This also helps the neighbors to become better acquainted with each other, which in turn creates a safer place to live. Each member of the mail box station receives a copy of the Resident Contact Information Form which includes the names, addresses, phone numbers, names of pets and emergency contacts. This form is only distributed to members of the mail box station and the Village Coordinator. This information has proven to be an invaluable resource to neighbors and to the Lincoln Police Department when a security or other problem has arisen and the resident was away from home. Participation in Neighborhood Watch is optional.
A "Vial of Life" Form and vial is given to each resident to complete and store on the top shelf of their refrigerator door. The form should be updated each time a change in medication and/or doctor occurs.
Residents can receive urgent or routine public safety information from the Lincoln Police Department and the Sun City Lincoln Hills Neighborhood Watch Program by going to http://www.lincal.net/watch and by clicking on Announcements.
For further information refer to the Neighborhood Watch Board Members list posted at the Orchard Creek Lodge Communications Board by the front entrance, in the COMPASS for the name and telephone number of a Neighborhood Watch Board member or you may go online at http://www.lincal.net/watch/ContactWatch.htm.
