Board Members Attend Leadership Summit

Friends board members attended the Nonprofit Leadership Summit on March 14 th  hosted by the Placer Community Foundation.  The free seminar focused on marketing and communications for nonprofit organizations.

Friends Dress Up to Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday

Friend volunteers assisted library staff on March 3 rd  at the annual Read Across America event held in honor of the birthday of children’s author Dr. Seuss.   Several community members served as celebrity readers for the kids. Tonie Jenkins, of the library staff, created a replica of Whoville, a popular location in Dr. Seuss’s books, funded in part by the Friends. Friends Receives Grant from Sierra Pacific Foundation for Summer Reading Program

Mark Luster, Community Relations Manager for Sierra Pacific Industries, stopped by the Friends April 10 th  meeting to present a generous check for the library’s summer reading program.  Thank you, Sierra Pacific Foundation, for helping to encourage children to keep reading over the summer.

Friends Featured in Lincoln View Magazine

Friends of the Lincoln Public Library was featured in two articles in the March issue of the Lincoln View Magazine. Check out the articles “For the love of the library” (page 8) and “Free Family Movie Night.” (Page 14) Thank you, Paige Smith, for the wonderful stories and pictures.

John Lescroart – Meet the Author Event is a Huge Success

Over 100 people attended the April 3 rd  evening event to meet John Lescroart, New York Times best-selling author of legal and crime thrillers.  Attendees enjoyed wine and food provided by the Friends. Mr. Lescroart spoke of his life and writing career and graciously signed copies of his latest book “Poison.”
